В даній статті обґрунтовується теза про трансформацію змісту та значення естетики в сучасному світі. Онтологічний і антропологічний поворот сучасної західної філософії змінив уявлення про призначення естетики, яка з кінця XIX ст. доповнюється методологією з різних дисциплін. Розвивається міждисциплінарний характер естетики, значно розширюється її категоріальний апарат.
