Аннотация. Статтю присвячено визначенню того змісту, який вкладався в поняття «перебудова» та «гласність» представниками української опозиційної інтелігенції другої половини 80-х рр. ХХ ст. Встановлено, що на відміну від офіційного змісту цих понять, для діячів національно-демократичного руху вони були наповнені значно глибшим особистісним сенсом та розумілись як головна умова перетворення нації на повноцінний суб’єкт історичного процесу.

Abstract. The article is devoted to the determination of content that fit into the concept of "rebuilding" and "publicity" by the Ukrainian opposition intellectuals of the second half of the 80's twentieth century. In spite the official content of these concepts, figures of the national-democratic movement, they contained much more deeper personal meaning and were understood as the main condition for the transformation of the nation to complete component of the historical process.
