Abstract. The article defines the discursive processes of polyethnic sociocultural and educational space (PESCES) from the position of the Sochi linguistic & rhetorical (L&R) school, the subject of which is the linguistic personality (LP). The term "LP" is defined as the "title term" and the basic category of the L&R paradigm, respectively, the terms-variations are hierarchized. The principle of monoantropocentrism is formulated: in all types of speech events it is the linguistic personality that functions, and the "speech", "communicative", "textual", "discursive" and other "personalities" are merely theoretical aspects and terminological fixations of the researcher's consideration of a particular aspect of the functioning and development of a single LP. The nominations of L&R classification’s subtypes are given: individual LP, professional LP, collective LP of ethnos, aggregate LP of ethnosocium, LP of a Russian citizen (a type by nationality); ethno-social LP (a particular subtype: Russian / American students, etc.), group LP, collegiate LP, planetary LP (multilanguage, multicultural, multi-religious) as the subject of discursive processes of world PESCES. The aspects of the L&R interpretation of the translation theory are planned, incl. the sphere of literary and artistic communication.
